What Mave is
Mave is an AI-powered postpartum companion. We provide conversational support for new mothers during the postpartum period. Mave is not a medical provider, therapist, or crisis service.
What we collect
Information you give us directly
- Your name and email address when you create an account
- Your baby's name and date of birth, provided during onboarding
- Focus areas you select during onboarding (e.g. sleep, mood, feeding)
- The messages you send in conversations with Mave
Information collected automatically
- Your IP address and general location (used for rate limiting and fraud prevention)
- Device type and browser (used for technical troubleshooting)
- Usage data — when you log in, how often you use the app
Payment information
We use Stripe to process payments. We never see or store your credit card number. Stripe handles all payment data under their own privacy policy.
How we use your information
- To operate the Mave service and deliver AI responses
- To personalize Mave's responses using your name, baby's name, and age
- To manage your account, trial, and subscription
- To send transactional emails (account confirmation, billing receipts)
- To improve the product over time
We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use your conversations to train AI models without your explicit consent.
Your conversations
Your messages to Mave are processed by Anthropic's Claude API to generate responses. Anthropic's data handling is governed by their privacy policy at anthropic.com/privacy. We store your conversation history in our database to provide continuity across sessions. You can request deletion of your conversation history at any time by emailing support@maveforme.com.
A note on sensitive content
Mave is designed for postpartum mothers who may share sensitive personal information — emotional struggles, health concerns, relationship difficulties. We take this seriously.
- We do not use your conversations for marketing
- We do not share conversation content with third parties except as required to operate the service (Anthropic API processing)
- If you share something that suggests you or your baby are in immediate danger, Mave is designed to direct you to emergency services — we do not contact authorities on your behalf
Data retention
We retain your account data and conversation history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it by law (e.g. billing records).
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Export your conversation history
To exercise any of these rights, email support@maveforme.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
Mave is intended for adults 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact support@maveforme.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-app notice. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
