Mave (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Mave Tech LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Please read it carefully.

By using Mave, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Who we are

Mave is a postpartum support app available at maveforme.com and app.maveforme.com. We provide AI-assisted emotional support for mothers navigating the postpartum period.

2. What information we collect

Information you provide directly

• Account information: email address and password when you create an account, or basic profile information if you sign in via Google OAuth
• Baby information: name and age of your baby, feeding method, and any other details you choose to share during onboarding
• Conversation content: the messages you send to Mave during your sessions
• Payment information: if you subscribe, your payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card number or payment details — Stripe handles this directly under their own privacy policy

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, features used, session length, and general interaction patterns
• Device information: browser type, operating system, and approximate geographic region (country or state level)
• Analytics: we use Vercel Analytics to understand how people use the site. This is privacy-focused and does not use cookies or fingerprinting

Information we do not collect

• We do not collect precise location data
• We do not use advertising trackers or sell data to advertisers
• We do not build advertising profiles

3. How we use your information

We use your information to:

• Provide and personalize the Mave experience, including personalizing responses using your baby's name and age
• Process payments and manage your subscription via Stripe
• Improve the product through anonymized, aggregated usage analysis
• Send transactional emails related to your account (subscription confirmations, payment receipts)
• Respond to support requests

We do not use your conversation content to train AI models without your explicit consent. Your conversations are used solely to generate your responses within your session.

4. AI and third-party processing

Mave's AI responses are powered by Claude, developed by Anthropic (anthropic.com). When you send a message to Mave, your message is processed by Anthropic's API to generate a response.

Anthropic processes this data under their own privacy policy and terms of service, which you can find at anthropic.com/privacy. Anthropic does not use API conversations to train their models by default.

We share only the minimum necessary information with Anthropic to generate your response. We do not send your name, email address, or payment information to Anthropic.

Other third-party services we use:

• Supabase — database and authentication hosting
• Stripe — payment processing
• Vercel — hosting and analytics

Each of these providers processes data under their own privacy policies and applicable data protection standards.

5. Data retention

We retain your account information and conversation history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

Anonymized, aggregated usage data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement purposes.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate information
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
• Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of sale. We do not sell personal information.

UK and EEA residents (GDPR/UK GDPR): Our legal basis for processing your data is performance of a contract (to provide the service you signed up for) and legitimate interests (improving the product). For any processing based on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time.

Australian residents (Privacy Act): You may request access to or correction of your personal information by contacting us directly.

7. Data security

We use industry-standard security measures including:

• Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) for all data
• Encrypted storage via Supabase with Row Level Security, meaning your data is only accessible to you
• No plaintext storage of passwords
• Regular review of access controls

No system is completely secure. If you become aware of a security issue, please contact us at privacy@maveforme.com.

8. Children

Mave is not intended for use by anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

9. Sensitive information

Mave handles conversations that may include sensitive health-related and emotional content. We treat this content with particular care:

• Conversation content is not shared with third parties except as described in Section 4 (AI processing) and as required by law
• We do not use conversation content for advertising purposes
• We do not sell or license conversation content

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by displaying a notice in the app before the changes take effect. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated.

Continued use of Mave after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
