These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Mave (“we,” “us,” or “our”), operated by Mave Tech LLC, available at maveforme.com and app.maveforme.com. By creating an account or using Mave, you agree to these Terms.

Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, do not use Mave.

1. What Mave is

Mave is an AI-assisted postpartum support app designed to help mothers navigate the emotional and practical challenges of the postpartum period.

Mave is not:

• A medical service or healthcare provider
• A mental health treatment provider or therapist
• A crisis service
• A substitute for professional medical, psychiatric, or emergency care

Mave's AI responses are informational and supportive in nature. They do not constitute medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always consult a qualified healthcare provider for medical concerns.

2. Eligibility

To use Mave, you must:

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be located in a jurisdiction where this type of service is permitted
• Provide accurate information when creating your account
• Have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement

Mave is intended for use by postpartum mothers and their immediate support people. We reserve the right to decline or terminate accounts that do not meet these criteria.

3. Your account

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Notifying us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised

You may not share your account with others or create accounts on behalf of third parties.

4. Subscription and payment

Free trial

New users receive a 7-day free trial. No credit card is required to start the trial.

Paid subscription

After the trial period, continued access requires a paid subscription at the price displayed at the time of purchase. Prices may change with notice.

Billing

Subscriptions are billed monthly through Stripe. By subscribing, you authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months except where required by law.

Price changes

We will notify you of price changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Mave to:

• Violate any applicable law or regulation
• Impersonate another person or entity
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data
• Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy any part of the service
• Use automated tools to access or interact with Mave
• Attempt to circumvent any security or access control measures
• Use Mave for any purpose other than personal, non-commercial use

6. Crisis and emergency situations

Mave is not a crisis service. If you or someone you know is in immediate danger, call 911.

Mave's AI is designed to recognize crisis signals and surface these resources, but it cannot replace human emergency response. Do not rely on Mave in a genuine emergency.

7. AI and limitations

Mave's responses are generated by artificial intelligence powered by Anthropic's Claude. AI-generated content:

• May be incomplete, inaccurate, or inappropriate for your specific situation
• Does not constitute professional advice of any kind
• Should not be used as the sole basis for medical, psychiatric, or legal decisions
• May not reflect the most current clinical guidelines

We make reasonable efforts to ensure Mave responds helpfully and safely, but we cannot guarantee accuracy in all cases. Your own judgment and consultation with qualified professionals remains essential.

8. Intellectual property

All content, design, and functionality of Mave — including the resources, recognition library, and educational articles — is owned by or licensed to Mave Tech LLC. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

Your conversation content remains yours. By using Mave, you grant us a limited license to process your conversation content solely to provide the service.

9. Privacy

Our collection and use of your personal information is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Disclaimers

Mave is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mave Tech LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• AI responses will be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your situation
• The service will meet your specific needs

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mave Tech LLC's total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of Mave is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or emotional distress, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Mave Tech LLC harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of Mave or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. We will provide reasonable notice where possible.

You may delete your account at any time from your settings. Upon termination, your right to use Mave ends immediately.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. For users outside the US, mandatory local consumer protection laws may also apply and are not excluded by these Terms.

We encourage you to contact us first if you have a dispute. Most issues can be resolved directly and quickly.
